Meet Melbec: Amy

In the next in our ‘Meet Melbec’ series, get to know our talented Technical Administrator, Amy!

How did you come to work at Melbec Microbiology?

While we were locked down during the Covid-19 pandemic, I was given redundancy. During that time, I had multiple jobs in which I felt like I wasn’t a fit for as I was looking for a role in which I could make a difference and it really affected my mental health.

A friend recommended Melbec so I reached out and have now been here for over three years.

What is your daily focus/role at Melbec Microbiology?

I work within the admin team to ensure that the samples are booked in for the cosmetics lab while also assisting customers with their queries and ensuring we deliver the best service we can.

What has been your favourite/most exciting project to work on throughout your career?

Not naming names but a customer of ours just so happens to create products that I have been in love with for a very long time and getting to build a rapport with their amazing team and assist with getting their testing done to their specifications has been great.

What has been your proudest moment at Melbec Microbiology so far?

Workwise it has been being able to assist customers who have had bad situations with their past labs and build a real relationship with them.

Non-work based was when I was taking part in fundraising for Cancer research and the Melbec staff were so generous with the donations that I managed to surpass my previous year’s targets.

What do you love most about working at Melbec Microbiology?

The people.
We have an amazing team of friendly, funny and really intelligent individuals who give their all to their work and are always there to help in any way they can.

What are you most looking forward to in the future?

In the last three years of being at Melbec I have seen amazing growth and can’t wait to see this continue and see what other great clients we can get on board.
