Meet Melbec: Chris Lord

In the next instalment of our ‘Meet Melbec’ series, we would love to introduce one of our hard-working technical administrators, Chris!

How did you come to work at Melbec Microbiology?

After my previous company unexpectedly closed, I searched for jobs, but found nothing that was appealing until the opportunity at Melbec came about. After applying and interviewing, I knew that it was the company I wanted to work for.

What is your daily focus/role at Melbec Microbiology?

I spend a lot of time throughout the day writing reports and booking in samples for testing. Although the role varies a lot, and there is always something new to do!

What has been your favourite/most exciting project to work on throughout your career?

We have had some interesting projects at Melbec, which have allowed me to think outside of the box and learn many new things. Due to this, I can’t think of just one that has been my favourite.

What do you love most about working at Melbec Microbiology?

The people and the fact that no day is like the last. I’m constantly learning new things and have the support to do this. From my colleagues to my bosses, everyone has made me feel welcome and been a huge help.

What are you most looking forward to in the future?

I’m looking forward to taking on more projects and increasing my knowledge in all aspects of microbiology.
