Biofilm Eradication

At Melbec Microbiology Ltd we can offer biocidal efficacy testing against biofilms using a validated colony biofilm method.

Bacteria, fungi and yeast can exist as independent or planktonic entities, or they can attach to surfaces to form a biofilm. Biofilms are usually much harder to eradicate than their corresponding planktonic forms.

At Melbec Microbiology Ltd we can offer biocidal efficacy testing against biofilms using a validated colony biofilm method.

The testing can be carried out with bacterial and fungal biofilms as well as multi-species biofilms.

We are also able to develop the method for a specific organism if a client has a factory isolate which is causing problems or for a specific efficacy claim.
