Melbec is a fully flexible microbiology contract research service for companies and institutions involved in the development of antimicrobial products and equipment. Melbec’s team of scientists are dedicated to offering the highest quality of services and results generation. Our experienced scientists can help with both long- and short-term projects and we can work in partnership with your own laboratories, or we can offer independent testing.

Research can be based on our extensive range of British, European, American, or international standards, or it can be bespoke methodology developed and validated in-house by our qualified experts.

Outside of the laboratory environment we can also help design and run studies or field trials to evaluate the effectiveness of products and equipment in the areas in which they were designed to be used. We have evaluated the efficacy of UV disinfection systems in care homes and hospitals. We have also evaluated in-situ antimicrobial air filtration systems and antimicrobial room fogging under lab conditions using standard methodologies but also in the areas in which they are designed to be used.
