World Environment Day 2025
🌍 It’s World Environment Day 2025! 🌍
Sustainability remains one of our key considerations and something we hold dear at Melbec. Over the last 12 months we have continued to demonstrate our commitment to the health of our planet.
We have:
🌿 Recycled 3000kg of glassware over the last 12 months by re-using it within the business and saving it from the landfill.
🌿 Contributed to the WWF’s Mission: Gorilla initiative!
🌿 Installed two new EV chargers.
🌿 Added an electric car to our roster, meaning all company owned vehicles are now electric and charge via our solar panels.
🌿 Reduced our brown roll usage by implementing re-useable cloths.
🌿 To align with new legislation and support sustainability, we’ve introduced a food waste bin in our kitchen and added an external composter, ensuring that all food waste generated gets composted on-site and used for landscape maintenance.
🌿 Continued to implement a reduction in single use items where possible, such as implementing the use of re-useable metal stirrers in place of single use plastic loops
🌿 Continually reviewed purchasing practices to ensure fewer deliveries are made to site, and purchasing items in bulk to avoid multiple, smaller deliveries of key materials used for testing.
🌿 Continued to purchase single use items in larger pack sizes where possible to reduce waste surplus from packaging.
🌿 We pledge to continue our efforts to safeguard our environment and ensure our work is sustainable.
